Jay D. Butler

Jay D. Butler, age 86, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born to the late Jay and Alice Butler on July 31, 1925 in Massillon, OH. Jay was a graduate of Canal Fulton High School, a WWII veteran (Navy Seabees), and attended Ohio State University. He retired from Motorist Mutual Insurance Company where he worked for 42 years. He served as a devoted usher for the OSU football team for 53 years. Jay was a lover of people and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Alberta Butler; siblings, Connie Gozdan and Jim Butler; and special friend, Lois Rhodes. He is survived by his loving daughter, Dr. Candilee Butler. Friends may call from 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm Friday, September 30, 2011 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL1740 Zollinger RD. where the funeral service will be held 10am Saturday, October 1, 2011.
