

Jay Hornberger, age 48, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2018 in Boston, MA after a long illness. Graduate of Bexley High School (1988) and Columbus State Community College (1992). He worked as real estate appraiser for Cape Cod & Islands Appraisal Group and Valligent Appraisal Group. He is survived by his sons, Wesley and Nathan of Orleans, MA; parents Jack and Barbara Hornberger of Chatham, MA; siblings Kelsey (Andy) Bruck of Worthington, OH, Matt Hornberger of Columbus, OH, Jon (Tracy) Seem of Ridgefield, CT, Andy (Sue) Seem of Cohasset, MA and Jenny Seem of Greenwich, CT; niece, Molly Bruck; nephews, Alex Bruck, Jake, Harrison and Sam Seem; uncle and aunt Jim and Sheri Hornberger of Pickerington, OH and cousins Mike, Jenny and Brian and their families. He will also be dearly missed by his close friends from Bexley – Tim & Brooke, Tim & Cathy, Johnny & Beth, Kristin & Bill, Chris and Jeff. Preceded in death by mother Sue Hornberger; grandparents, Ralph and Kay Hornberger and Charles and Lucille Zollinger. Jay was loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his funny sense of humor and his kind and easy going personality. He loved Cape Cod, listening to his favorite band, Rush, and spending time with his friends and family, especially watching Wes and Nate’s baseball games. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 11:00am, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 333 S. Drexel Ave., Bexley. Reception to follow the service. Private family inurnment, Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to support the “Advanced Heart Disease Research and Education Fund” at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
