Jean Bachman

Vera "Jean" Bachman, 86, of New Albany, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 29, 2016 at St. Ann's Hospital. She was born on October 24, 1930 in Sugar Grove, Ohio to the late Walter and Bessie Grile. Jean was a wonderful and loving mother to her children, Linda (Len) Tabor, Chuck (Karen) Bachman, Rick (Judy) Bachman, Wayne (Patti) Bachman and Connie Bachman; also survived by her sister, Phyllis (Gene) Sites, 8 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John, long-time companion Bob Cavendish and grandson John Bachman. Jean was a loving and caring soul who will be remembered for her ability to support others through her unspoken words and actions. As a young wife to John Bachman, she supported him in his aspirations of crop and dairy farming and in 1970, when he passed away, she continued farming along with raising their 5 children. Jean enjoyed her women's card club for the past 60 years, along with tap dancing, baking, cake decorating, cruising, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was also a volunteer with the election board and a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 1-5PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna where a funeral service will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at 10AM with Rev. Jonathon Bull officiating.
