Jean M. Hedges

Jean M. Hedges, 90, of Hilton Head, SC and Circleville, OH passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Circleville, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 3, 1921 in Newark, OH, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Nichols) Hoover. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Hoover; sister, Virginia Drumm; and 3 grandchildren. Jean was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Child Conservation League, the Women’s Auxiliary Pickaway Medical Society and the Pickaway Plains Chapter of the DAR. She was one of the founders of the Well Child Clinic and had been on the board of the Old Home and Hospital, now known as Brown Memorial Home. Jean is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Dr. Jasper M. Hedges; son, Dr. Charles R. (Mollie) Hedges of Circleville; daughters, Stephanie “Stevie” Frisch of Circleville and Ann Lynn of Del Mar, CA; grandchildren, Chris (Tiffany) Hedges of Knoxville, Ben (fiancée Cassie Groh) Hedges of Charleston, SC, Colin (Katie) Hedges of Circleville, Amanda (Peter) Dempsey of Denver and Jordan and Caroline Lynn of Los Angeles; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Hedges and Kieran and Quinn Dempsey. There will be no calling hours or visitation. A private family graveside will be held at Forest Cemetery, with Pastor Troy Braswell officiating.
