She is survived by her daughters Margaret K. Spero and Susan B. Spero; Son-in-law John A. Berton Jr.; Grandchildren Kiersten Spero Berton and Nathan Spero Berton.
She attended Wellesley College and graduated from the Ohio State University. She was the Chair of the Home Economics Department at Otterbein University, where she founded and was the Curator of The Otterbein Historic Costume Collection.
Her passions included her family, Jane Austin, gardening, Planned Parenthood, and as a confessed fabricholic, anything to do with fabric.
Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Northwest. There will be no calling hours, but a private Celebration of Life will be held in Novato, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Planned Parenthood in Jean's memory.
Please share your condolences, memories, and kindness with Jean's family.
