Jeanne Marie Brandes

Jeanne Marie Brandes, age 67, of Columbus passed away in her home on November 11, 2023. She was born on February 15, 1956 in Columbus to Marciana Watson Brandes and Richard C. Brandes, M.D. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers, Eric and Rob Brandes. Jeanne graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1974, and then obtained her B.A. in German Studies from Furman University in 1978. She later achieved a Master of Business Administration from Capital University in 1989. Jeanne worked in accounting as President of her own business, Brandes Accounting Solutions, Inc. In her freetime she was involved with TWIG 108, a group dedicated to supporting Nationwide Children’s Hospital, as well as the American Association of University Women (AAUW), where she previously served as President of the Columbus chapter. Jeanne is survived by her son Robert (RC) Brandes, Columbus OH; her sister Judith Wherry, Russells Point OH; niece Dorothy Najolia, Stafford VA, and nephews, Mark Wherry and Andrew Brandes (Claire), both of Columbus, and Matthew Brandes (Marisa), Richmond VA. Friends and family will be received at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH on Sunday, November 19 for a service at 4PM, followed by a reception until 7PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Jeanne’s memory to the Upper Arlington High School Crew Team (uacrew.org).
