Jeanne A. Cotton, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 3, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She was born August 1, 1941 to the late Sheldon and Mary (Perkins) Ford. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Roy E. Cotton Jr., brothers; Dick and Jack Ford. Survived by her son Gary (Beth Ann), daughter Beth Belcher; 5 grandchildren; Darcie (John), J.J., Megan, Brittany (Mike) and Dillon; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Massie of Oregon, many nieces and nephews, her beloved dog, Molly, as well as many friends who became a part of her family. She was a member of the Grove City High School class of 1959. Jeanne was a 26 year member of the American Legion Post 164 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Elks Auxiliary. She was a former Thoroughbred horse owner. She loved to work on Jigsaw and crossword puzzles, loved to bake, but most of all loved her family and was a grandma to all who knew her. Jeanne's work life consisted of being the owner of Cotton's Corner Restaurant, and over 25 years of service with Beulah Park where she served many roles, one of which was Union President for several terms. With Jeanne's over a quarter of a century history with Beulah Park it seemed fitting that her passing occurred on the day the track was closing for good. At Jeanne's request there will be no service at this time, so please raise a glass in her honor. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Carriage Court for their love and support they showed to Jeanne during her stay with them. Contributions may be made in Jeanne's name to the Capital Area Humane Society 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct. Hilliard, OH 43026 or to the American Lung Association 1950 Arlingate Ln. Columbus, OH 43228. Please visit www.schoedinger to sign her online guest book or to leave a special memory or photo of Jeanne. SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY is handling the arrangements for the Cotton family.
