Jeffrey C Richards

On July 11th 2026, growing tired of tedious social obligations, Jeffrey C Richards, formally and officially, found a way to ghost us all. Born November 24, 1954 at Riverside hospital, in Columbus, Ohio. Jeff graduated from North High-School, Class of '73 and briefly attended The Ohio State University. Jeff retired from the City of Columbus, Department of Sewers and Drains in 2017.

Preceded in death by his father, Harry E. Richards and mother, Virginia B. Richards. Jeff is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sue Richards; son Jeremy (Cassandra) Richards; daughter Kelye Richards; granddaughter Kaydence; and sisters Rhonda (Neil) Shearer and Valarie Richards. Jeff was an avid angler who passed on an unhealthy obsession to his children. He enjoyed golf, gardening and spending time with his granddaughter. Jeff was a fan of all things fast and spent many weekends enjoying Nascar, Indy and Formula 1 Racing. He was a fan of jazz and blues including Miles Davis, Carlos Santana and his favorite band Jethro Tull remained in heavy rotation as he tinkered in his garage.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH 43221, US, on July 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Luminary Hospice or Helping Hands Ministry, Pickerington, OH.
