Jennie Hutchison Clark

Jennie Hutchison Clark of Upper Arlington passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was born on December 24, 1921, in Newport and raised in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late William and Ruth (Torner) Hutchison. Jennie was a graduate of The Ohio State University.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel G. Clark, M.D.; daughter, Carolyn Clark Ahern, Ph.D.; and brothers, William G. Hutchison, M.D., John W. Hutchison, M.D, and S. Robert Hutchison.

She is survived by son-in-law, Judson L. Ahern, Ph.D.; granddaughter, Kelly K. Ahern Sitzman and her husband David Sitzman; and Patrick Ahern, all of Norman, Oklahoma.

Jennie was a steadfast partner to Sam for decades and enjoyed spending time with him traveling, juggling, and mowing the lawn. She had the most impressive memory and told the best stories from her 100 years of life. Jennie will be incredibly missed by her friends and family.

At Jennie’s request, there will be no service, so instead the family will plant a memorial tree (as Jennie and Carolyn did for Sam). To contribute to this fund, Venmo @Kelly-Sitzman and include the note “Jennie Clark tree.”
