Jenny Lou Craig Renkert passed on, peacefully, in her home in The Chelsea, Columbus OH, on November 9, 2020. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George, and her devoted son-in-law, Ed Wheaton. She is survived by her children Craig (Barb) Renkert of Bend, OR, and Cathy Wheaton, Columbus; as well as loving grandchildren: Rob (Jennie Baker) Wheaton, Jenny (Trevor) Hanhilammi, Amy (Dan) Zeitler, Kate (Mark) Troyer, Jeffrey Nygren and Danny Nygren. Some of the brightest lights in her life were her eight great-grandchildren: Danny and Penny Wheaton; Adam and Allison Hanhilammi; Daniel and Arden Zeitler; Harold and Louise Troyer. Jenny Lou loved and valued her relationships with extended family as well.
Her life was focused on being with family and friends. In addition, philanthropy was near and dear to her heart. She was still active in many organizations including P.E.O. (BX), FCC Guild X, Cancer Ray, Twig, Tri Delta (Miami University) and Buckeye Boys Ranch, to name a few. She also enjoyed being involved in the Upper Arlington community, her home for 64 years.
Jenny Lou and George found their world-wide travels to be a great joy, but their most-favored "hideaway" was Naples, Florida.
The very most important thing in her life was her family. She adored her husband, children, grandchildren and her precious great-grandchildren. The blending of two families brought the delight of three more grandchildren and two more great-grandchildren, who shared in her love. Life was good and she was greatly blessed.
Jenny Lou's family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at The Chelsea, First Community Village; and, in particular, the hospice care she received over these last eight months. The care and compassion you provided were invaluable.
Our family has chosen to celebrate Jenny Lou's life privately. The family wishes memorial contributions to be made to The Upper Arlington Community Foundation, GFR Memorial Fund, 3600 Tremont Road, Upper Arlington OH 43221.
~~You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on~~
