Jerry T. Davidson, 76 passed away May 21, 2017, in Columbus, Ohio. His battle with cancer was fought with courage, integrity, and strength, all the attributes he demonstrated throughout his life. During his final weeks, Jerry was in the graceful care of Kobacker House Hospice and died comfortably in his sleep.
Born, August 28, 1940, Jerry was raised by his parents, Maynard P. Davidson, and Sarah (Miller) Davidson, in Oberlin, Ohio; a college town he was fond of claiming as his home. Jerry will be remembered lovingly by his brother, James M. Davidson (Jane), and Judy Davidson Creasy (Robert) along with all of their children.
Jerry graduated from Oberlin High School, although he attended Mercersburg Academy and Culver Navy School during a portion of his high school years. He furthered his education at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. Following college, Jerry remained in Cincinnati and began his career at Proctor and Gamble, in the Fixed Assets and Accounting Division, then moved on to Emerson Electric, Emerson MIT Technical Division. After working at U.S. Motors, as a District Manager, Jerry started Power National Corporation in Columbus, Ohio, with James M. Fowler and Stanley P. Campbell. His final career path transition occurred when he started J. T. Davidson & Co., Inc. Jerry cherished his business and his customers, many of whom he considered to be family. He was active in his business until the most recent weeks.
As a proud parent, Jerry adored his daughter, Stacey J. Gall (Greg) and grandson Antonio, son David Michael Davidson (Jerilyn), and grandchildren John Michael, Makaela, Makenzie, and Nathaniel.
Nancy Wilcoxon Davidson and Jerry treasured nearly 20 loving years together. He always felt it rewarding to help raise his stepdaughter, Kelsey Clark.
Those who knew Jerry were familiar with his love for annual flowers. If sending flowers, annuals for the family to enjoy throughout the summer would honor him. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kobacker House, where their kindness was never-ending, would also be appreciated.
