

Jimmy Gail Lockett, age 76, passed away February 4, 2013 at his home in Hide-A-Way Hills, Ohio. Jimmy was born September 1, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Theodore “Ted” and Esther Rose (Reed) Lockett. He graduated from Marion Franklin High School in 1956 and retired from DFAS with over 30 years of dedicated service. Jimmy had a passion for golf, baseball and the Yankees. He had an appreciation for the outdoors through fishing, gardening, hunting and hiking. He celebrated life every day… through his cooking, coaching, love of animals, and most significantly, through the love and support he showed to his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Marilyn Lockett; sons, Craig Lockett and Gregory Lockett; brother, George (Chris) Lockett; mother-in-law, Frances “Jenny” Humphrey and sisters-in-law, Karen Humphrey and Elaine Lockett. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Frances (Humphrey) Lockett; children, Clark Reed (Ann) Lockett and Gail Michelle (Ira “Lee”) Barksdale; brother, Ralph Lockett; grandchildren, Victoria Ann (John) Dinneen, Christian Reed Lockett, Jesse Lee Barksdale and Janet Michelle Barksdale; father-in-law, David Humphrey; brother-in-law, Daren Humphrey; beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He also loved his canine girls, Cody and Annie, along with Lady (who preceded him in death). Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday, February 8, 2013 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 where services will be held at 12noon on Saturday; Interment will take place at 10am Monday, February 11, 2013 in Harrison Twp. Cemetery, South Bloomfield, Ohio.
