Jo-Elise May Davis

Jo-Elise (Jodie) M. Davis, age 90, passed away on November 3, 2019. Jodie was born and raised in Bexley, Ohio to the late Earl and Deborah May. Also preceding her in death was her husband James H. Davis. She graduated from Bexley High School in1947 and The Ohio State University in 1951 where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Jodie met her husband Jim at Ohio State and was married in 1952. She was an avid reader, fourth grade teacher at Tremont Elementary School and tour guide for the Ohio Historical Society for many years. Later she began her volunteer positions with the Muirfield Golf Tournament in 1975. Jodie was a Courtesy Car Chairman and Player Score Card Verifier for thirty years. She was recognized by Jack Nicholas for her dedication to the Tournament and Children's Hospital. She also served as president for Board V and TWIG organizations. Jodie enjoyed working part-time at Talbots and the Acorn where she could enjoy her love for fashion. She is survived by her son, Jim Jr. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 2:00pm. The location will be: First Community Church, Burkhart Chapel located at 1320 Cambridge Boulevard in Grandview. The Reverend James M. Long will be leading the Service.
