

Joan Andrews Hays, age 60, of Columbus, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joan was born in Eastchester, NY on June 10, 1952. Joan received her Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan, she was a french major and a Tridelt. It was there Joan met her husband of 38 years, Dr. W. Lee Hays. She was an avid tennis player, well known in the tennis community. She played on three competitive teams and was a member of Racquet Club of Columbus and Worthington Hills Country Club. She was also active in the local Worthington singing group Capriccio! and was a member of Worthington United Methodist Church. Joan was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Andrews and Father-in-Law Willard Carl Hays. She is survived by her husband, Dr. W. Lee; children, Dr. Michael (Hannah) Hays, Lee (Carrie) Hays, Rob (Rachel) Hays, grandchildren, Annabelle, Andrew, Katherine, and Dagny Joan Hays; mother, Marie (Schumann) Andrews; mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Hays; brother, Robert (Jean) Andrews, sister and brothers-in-law, Susan (David) Robenalt, Robert Hays, James Hays; nieces and nephews, Alison Mackley, Jennifer Dudderar, Alyson and Christine Hays, Jennifer Wallace, Lindsey Watson, Grant Alexander Hays; great nieces and nephews, Brooke, Collin, Declan, Caroline; faithful dog, JJ; numerous special friends and family. Friends may call from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N High St., Worthington, OH 43085. Funeral Service will be held 10 am on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street, Worthington. Rev Cyndy Garn officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery.
