Born in 1930 in Steubenville, Ohio, Jo was raised by Butch and Grace Carroll with her two sisters, Kathleen Carroll & Betty Jane Mosti, who still live there. She graduated early from Ohio University. There, she met Edwin Loving on a blind date, and lightning struck to begin a love story that would last for more than 50 years. They settled briefly in Columbus and then in Wilmington, Ohio, where Jo would focus on raising her three daughters. Summers were spent in Temagami, Canada, and on the golf course. She proudly won 3-three club championships at Snow Hill Country Club. When her grandson Philip was sick, and when Ed was diagnosed with cancer, Jo did not shy away from becoming a hands-on caregiver. We will remember her love of family and strength of character. We know that she is sitting on the dock with Papa Edo and Philip watching the sunset over Lake Temagami.
She leaves behind ‘the girls’: daughters Carrie (Doug) DeVilbiss and Meg (Stuart) Allen, of Columbus, and Lee (Matt) Neff of Indianapolis, and the grandchildren: Jesse, Luke, Mitch, and Will Allen; Sloan, Drew, and Grant DeVilbiss; Alex and Grady Neff.
