Joan Marie Mapes

She was born on July 11, 1978 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Allan and Maxene (Jameson) Wilson.

Joan was raised in Farmington Hills, Michigan and was an adventurous child who loved to travel throughout Michigan and the U.S. in the family camper. Some of her fondest memories included the many outings with her parents, siblings, and family pets. Joan was a 1996 graduate of Farmington High School and attended Wayne State University in Detroit.

Joan and Jeremie met while working for Best Buy in Michigan, and after 6 years of marriage, their family was made complete when their beautiful daughter, Sophia, was born. After moving to Ohio in 2005 from the East Coast, they made Dublin their new home. While greatly enjoying her role as mother and homemaker, Joan was anxious to re-enter the professional workplace.

With her magnetic personality and friendly demeanor, she was hired by Delta Energy and quickly became the face of the company as the Office Administrator in their corporate office. Throughout the years, her aptitude, attention to detail, and continuous positive attitude allowed her to assume various responsibilities and in 2016, received one of the company’s most prestigious awards.

Beyond the great happiness of her personal and professional life, Joan found tremendous joy and peace while planting and tending to her flower garden. She was a kind, sincere, and gentle woman who had a tenderness for all animals and a special love for butterflies, hummingbirds, and rainbows. Joan’s natural generosity and affinity for those less fortunate was readily apparent in her participation and volunteerism to support the mission of many non-profit organizations.

Joan will be deeply missed by her husband of 19 years, Jeremie Mapes; daughter Sophia; parents Allan and Maxene Wilson; sisters Ann Wieczorek and Susan Koursaris; brothers David Wilson, John Wilson, and Dan Wilson; brothers-in-law Paul Wieczorek and James Koursaris; sisters-in-law Cindy Wilson, Melissa Wilson, and Lisa Wilson; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at La Chatelaine in Dublin, OH from 4pm-7pm.
