My life began on January 26, 1987, the day I became a mother. Life changed on August 12, 1988 (one month after my 35th birthday), with a diagnosis of ovarian cancer, while pregnant with baby Sally. I was advised by doctors to terminate the pregnancy and to have a complete hysterectomy. I ignored the doctors and on January 5, 1989 was blessed to bring Sally into the world. From the time they were young, Scott and Sally were independent and responsible. I was also blessed with a stepson, Erick, whom I learned much from over my life. Now I have grown kids who are smart, honest, independent, self-reliant, confident, hardworking, funny, and I hope, happy. Outside of my three children, the love of my life was my father George and I hope his legacy of family, community and compassion I was able to pass on. My dear mother Jean gave me the will to always carry on. I was lucky to have my older sister, Pam, and her husband, John, who were there for me throughout my life. Living close to my nephew Brad and niece Lauren and their families has given me so much joy throughout my life, especially recently as I got to know their wonderful children. I could not have done it without good and constant love and support of friends; Bob L, Sue K, Darcy, Jo and later in life my favorite cousin Tommy (listed in order of appearance in my life). Don’t know how people make it through without friends. Their good humor cannot be over measured. Thank you all.
As an oldster I have suffered from extreme FOMO, fear of missing out, and not knowing all of the life and change going on with those I love. Have someone working on an app, I know I will see everyone again on the flip side and that will make me happy.
On my tombstone, let it read “She tried her best.”

In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you go see a local theater production and indulge in sweet treats (cookies were her favorite) in her memory.
