

Joan Sisk Madary, age 82 of Maryland, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio. Joan was born in Baltimore, MD and grew up in Catonsville, MD, daughter of the late Carroll and Evelyn (Cavey) Conaway. Also preceded in death by her husbands, Mason Sisk, Jr. and Charles Boyd Madary and sister, Charlotte Frey. Joan graduated from John Hopkins School of Nursing in 1958 and worked as a registered nurse. She was a loving, caring and generous woman, always taking care of others. Joan was a member of PEO International, countless nursing societies and associations throughout the years, and Presbyterian Church of Easton where she also sang in their choir. In addition, Joan also volunteered with many different organizations. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking, playing the piano and singing, and gardening. Most of all, Joan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her loving children, David Sisk, Douglas (Susan) Sisk, and Sharon Sisk Swanson; grandchildren, William and Andrew Sisk and Drew and Jessica Swanson; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Monday, July 22, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, Ohio. A memorial service celebrating Joan's life will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, July 26, 2019 at Presbyterian Church of Easton, 617 N. Washington St., Easton, MD where family will receive friends at a visitation and reception following service until 1:30 P.M.
