Joann S. Masten

Joann S. Masten, age 90, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022. Joann was born on July 21, 1931, in Athens Ohio to the late Clyde and Sarah Dowler. Also preceding in death is her son Charles Masten; and daughter Trish Masten.

Joann grew up in Athens Ohio, where she attended Athens High School. She soon met the love of her life Bob Masten, her husband of 74 years. She enjoyed the little things in life, the art of crocheting, crafting rag rugs, and spending time in the country. She especially enjoyed taking trips back to their home in Athens. Most of all though, Joann’s life revolved around her family. She cherished family time, and as she aged she became blessed with children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her heart grew bigger for each new addition to the family.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Charles “Bob” Robert Masten; daughters Edna Jasper and Sandy Kunz; daughter-in-law Lisa Masten; grandchildren Joanna (Mike) Gauthier, Amanda (Chris McNally) Masten, Jamie (Matt Gillis) Savoia; great grandchildren Zach (Brooke) Gauthier, Hailey McNally, Mariah Savoia, Tyler Gillis; and great-great grandchild Colson Gauthier.
