Joe A. Dumbauld

Joe Arthur Dumbauld, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2014 at home. Currently a resident of Hilliard, OH, Joe was born November 18, 1934 in Upper Arlington, to the late Kiser and Gladys Dumbauld.

A member of the first kindergarten class at Barrington Elementary, he graduated UAHS in 1952. After enrolling in The Ohio State University that year, he joined Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) serving as President in 1956-57, graduating in 1957 in Industrial Engineering.

He was employed then by Goodyear Aircraft in Akron, Ohio, where he served as President of the Local Chapter #52 of the A.I.I.E., until 1963. Employment followed with United Technology in Morgan Hill, CA, developing procedures for rocket fuel development. In 1965, he began working for Westinghouse Electric Corp. Marine Division, in Sunnyvale, CA, as a Senior Planning Engineer until retirement in 1994. During that time, he served as President of: The WEC Managements Club, The Board of the WEC-SV Credit Union, and the O.S.U. Alumni Club of N. California. From 1976 thru 1978, Joe lived in Shiraz, Iran, in a training position with the Iran Electronics Institute contracted by Westinghouse. After retirement, Joe moved back to central Ohio in 2000 to Hilliard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dr. Mary Lou Burt. He is survived by nephews, John C. (Renee) Niple, Edward R. (Margaret) Niple, Thomas K. (Rosemary) Niple and Craig K. Niple as well as 8 grandnieces and nephews and 6 great-grandnieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH.
