Johannes "John" Karel Cats

Johannes “John” Karel Cats, 83, passed away after a long illness on October 28, 2013. He was born in Amsterdam, Holland, “The Netherlands”. John retired from Igel Construction in 1992 after 34 years of service. He was a longtime “49 year” member of The Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #11 on Demorest Road. He was also a Moose Legion member for 47 years. John was preceded in death by his parents, Baldus and Hendrika Cats of Amsterdam, Holland “The Netherlands”; daughters, Nicoline Morris and Denise Shau; nephew, Bob Cats, Jr. He is survived by brother, Baldus (Bep) Cats; sisters, Hendrika (Jan) Planjer and Ans Wurtz Cats; and nieces and nephews all in The Netherlands. He is also survived by his wife, Anna “Kittie” Cats, children, Carla (John) Baldwin of Washington State, Karel (Brenda) Cats of Utah, Kimberly Flannigan of Texas; he was also Dad to Deborah (Ernest) Meadows of Ohio, and Dianna (Lundy) Baker of South Carolina; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In accordance with John’s wishes he will be cremated and there will be no viewing, the same as his parents. To celebrate John’s life a luncheon will be held for family and friends.
