John Frederick Brandt, born April 17, 1943, passed away on August 10, 2026. Veteran of the U.S Air Force. He had his own business, Brandt Draperies. He also drove a school bus for Columbus City Schools for several years. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rosemary Brandt, uncle and aunt, Otto and Winifred Roeckner who raised him after his parents has passed, his life partner of 43 years, Lucille “Lucy” Groff, stepdaughter, Margie Marcum, stepsons; Danny Groff and Keith Groff. Survived by his son, Doug Brandt and grandchildren; Bailey and Doug, stepdaughter, Debbie (Ken) Havely, stepson, Allen (Kay) Groff, step grandchildren; step great grandchildren and many others who shared in his life. Special shout out to the Buckeye Packards Car Club and all the members of the VFW. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Schoedinger East, 5360 E Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, US, on August 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at Schoedinger East from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213, on August 14, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm.
