John R. Bucher

John R. Bucher, 85, of Upper Arlington, entered into Eternal Rest Friday, June 21, 2013. He was born March 7, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Carl and Cecelia (Heck) Bucher. He was a graduate of Chaminade High School in Dayton. John was operations manager for Nabisco Brands, Inc. retiring following 39 years. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Nartker) Bucher in January, 2013 and three sisters, Clara, Catherine and infant Mary Gertrude Bucher. John is survived by his daughter, Marilyn J. Balcerzak; son, Carl J. (Jane) Bucher; grandchildren, Alex, Allyson, and Erin Balcerzak and Jason, Jennifer, Jeremy and Justin Bucher; other relatives and many friends. Veteran U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. John was a longtime member of St. Andrew Parish and a member of VFW Post # 1598; AMVETS # 89; American Legion Post # 465 and F.O.E. # 2252. Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where prayer service will be held at 4:30 pm Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road at Reed Road. Fr. Michael Watson, Celebrant. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
