

John Thomas Conway, age 80, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. He was born in Columbus on August 6, 1932, and was very proud of his Irish heritage. John served our country in the US Navy for 4 years. He worked as a supervisor for AT&T, retiring after 30 years. Following his retirement, he worked as a courier for Riverside Hospital for 10 years. John was devout in his faith, and he was a member of St. Matthew the Apostle Church. He was outgoing, personable, and enthusiastically devoted to The Missions. Through his creativity and vivacious personality, he organized annual fund-raising events for Fr. John’s Missions in Bolivia. John was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, James J. Conway, Ann Conway, and Mary Margaret Duncan. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan P. Conway; children, Kathleen Conway, Marianne (Fred) Schoen, John (Valerie) Conway, and Joseph (Melissa) Conway; sister, Eileen Rowe; grandchildren, Jeff, Joe, Jimmy, Johnny, Maria, Jacob, Patrick, Monica, Mary Beth, Catherine, Mark, Will, Michael, Joseph, Christopher, Anna, Therese, John Paul, Shannon, Sara, and Sophia; and many friends and supporters of Fr. John’s Maryknoll Missions. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna; Fr. James Ogurchuck, Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions payable to Fr.
