

John F. "Jack" Trueman, 79, of Powell, Ohio and Sarasota, Florida, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was born October 22, 1933 in Cleveland and was a graduate of Cathedral Latin H.S.
Jack moved to the Columbus area in 1969 and joined his brother Jim as a partner eventually establishing the Red Roof Inn motel chain. He retired as the Vice President of Real Estate in 1987. After 30 years in Upper Arlington, Ohio, Jack and Virginia moved to Powell, Ohio where they have lived for the past 18 years; sharing their time between Sarasota, Florida.
Jack was a long-time member of St. Agatha Catholic Church in Upper Arlington and St. Michael the Archangel in Sarasota. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing in Canada with friends and family. Jack was a real people person and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband and caring father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, George and Alma Trueman; and brothers, William and James Trueman. Jack will be missed by his loving wife of almost 56 years, Virginia; daughters, Suzanne (Wolf) Samlowski, Las Vegas and Debbie (Tim) Weis, Upper Arlington; sons, Michael (Joanne) Trueman, Phoenix and John (Anne) Trueman, Chicago; grandchildren, Lizzy, Erika, and Adam Samlowski; Jack and Will Weis; Hunter and Hayley Trueman; Hannah, Ryan, Graham, and Courtney Trueman; sisters-in-law, Claire and Barbara Trueman; brother-in-law, James (Jean) Nerone; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Family will receive friends Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Rd., Columbus, Fr. Daniel Ochs, Celebrant.
