

John "Jack" Goode, age 82, went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2018 in the presence of his loving family. Jack was born in Circleville Ohio to his parents William and Ruth "Maechtel" Goode on May 17, 1935. He was a part of the Circleville community his entire life, graduating from Circleville High School in 1953. He served his country by enlisting into the U.S Army in the late 50's. Jack would marry his wife Judy "Goeller" Goode on September 12, 1959. They spent 58 years of a wonderful marriage together. Along with his family, Jack leaves behind his legacy in J.S. Goode Landscaping, which has served the community proudly since 1960. Jack was very creative, always building something new or starting new life in his plants. He loved woodworking and of course, landscaping. Jack was a member of the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association for many years. He was a hardworking man who instilled this quality into his children and grandchildren. He was known for his great sense of humor and infectious laugh, and loved the time he spent with his family. He was a man who loved the Lord, and was a life-long member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Circleville. Jack will be missed dearly by his family, friends and community.
Jack has joined in heaven his parents; his daughter Jacqueline Ann Goode; his brothers Bill and Raymond Goode; his sisters Elizabeth Scott, Margaret Goode, Jean Roundhouse, and Sister Agnus Goode; as well as his infant grandson Jackson Warner.
Left to mourn his passing is his devoted wife Judy; his children Joan (John) Tupper, Julie (Phil) Dickey, John (Amy) Goode and Jean (Bill) Strayer; his sister Ruth Seimer; his brothers Jerry Goode, David (Paula) Goode, and Paul (Patricia) Goode; his grandchildren John Cole Tupper, Claire Tupper, Daniel (Stacey) Thomas, Cari (Tim) Sprague, Devonna Dickey, Kyle Dickey, Layne Goode, John Christian Goode, John Nickolas Strayer, Lily Strayer, and Gretchen (Josh) Tyson; as well as 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2nd at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, located at 151 East Main Street Circleville, from 4 to 7pm with a prayer service at 7. Jack's funeral service will be Saturday, February 3rd at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 134 West Mound Street Circleville, at 10:30am with Father Ted Machnik officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Circleville. Donations may be made in Jack's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Rd, Columbus, OH 43215.
