

John E. "Jack" Davis, age 90 of Columbus, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018. Jack was born in Dayton, Ohio and was raised by John and Catherine Davis. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. and was a WWII and Korean War Veteran. Jack retired from General Motors after a dedicated 32 year career. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason, Scottish Rite, Jester's Unit, and Reception Unit. In addition, Jack also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and bowling. Most of all, Jack was a true golfer at heart who was still playing up until last year. Jack was a gentleman who was loyal, hardworking, and had a great sense of humor. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Doris Jane Davis. He will be greatly missed by his loving children, Pamela Petrie, John Davis, and Sandy (Jody) Davis-Connors; grandchildren, Jason Petrie, Trina (Fred) Price, Rozlynn (Ben) Ober, Raelynn (Ben) Hong, Joey Connors, and Spencer Davis; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Bill Davis; and many other extended family members and dear friends. A memorial service celebrating Jack's life will begin at 10 A.M., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 3-7 P.M., Tuesday and a Jester Rose Ceremony will begin at 7 P.M.
