John David Magas

John D. Magas, age 67, passed away peacefully at home with loving family by his side Tuesday, February 16, 2016. John was born on May 15, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John and Dorothy (Earley) Magas. John enjoyed the outdoors, especially traveling to western national parks. He was an avid photographer of all animals from buffalos to hummingbirds. He graduated from B.G.S.U. with a B.S. degree in education and served in the Ohio National Guard. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Judith (Goeke) Magas; his brothers, Larry (Evelyn) Magas from California and Robert (Carlene) Magas from Colorado; his sister-in-law, Linda Hennessy; and brother-in- heart Dennis (Barbara) Marshall; nieces and nephews Elizabeth and Patrick Hennessy; Gregory, Andrew and James Magas; Elizabeth Lucille and John Henry Magas. Family will receive friends 1-3 and 5-7 PM with Prayer Service beginning at 6:30 PM on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3290 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Father Jim Colopy, Celebrant.
