John William Minton, Jr. age 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024. John was born in Evanston, Illinois on September 1, 1928 to the late John and Milly (Sutton) Minton. Also preceding in death was his wife Mary (Hammell) Minton; grandson Todd Minton; and granddaughter Kristy Doyle Ayers. John was a 1946 graduate of John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Missouri. He continued his education with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1950 from Princeton University. John has been a Life-Time member of AA since 1981, helping sponsor and mentor many people over the years. John will be deeply missed by his loving children Barbara (William) McGlinn, John Minton, Elizabeth (Doug) Cole, and Nancy Minton; granddaughter Kimberly Sutton Doyle; grandsons John Sutton Miller and Chris Martin; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
