

John was born in Gaylord, Michigan to parents; the late Marilee (Betts) Mixter and the late Allan Clair Mixter. John was a twin and was preceded in death by his twin brother James C. Mixter. John is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Lorraine (Hodes) Mixter; sister, Chris tine (Mixter) Domokos; son, Lonnie (Danielle) Mixter; son, John ( Melissa ) Mixter; daughter, Karen (Mixter) Lewis; grandchildren, Kevin Schroeder, Austin and Brandon Mixter, Emma Lewis, stepchildren: Dana Perkins, Alexis Tucker; step-grandchildren, Damian Tucker and Zibe Stein; niece, Trish Turfler, sister-in-law, Vicky Mixter; Julianne (Mixter) Ludzinski: nephew, Eric Mixter; niece, Trina (Mixter) White as well as numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
John played in the Standish, Michigan Little League and he played varsity football for the Standish-Sterling Central High School also in Standish, Michigan.
He graduated from Standish-Sterling High School.
At the age of 14 John worked at Forwards Gas Station in Standish, MI. Very early on John became an entrepreneur. He owned and operated the Majic Market in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Recently retired, John was the founder and owner of BPO, Inc. a regional transportation company operating out of the state of Virginia. He earned many Safe Driving awards and Driver of the Month awards. Prior to being self-employed he worked at DandB Tile in Sunrise, Florida as a driver servicing stores throughout Florida. He spoke often of his job with Tree of Life and the many cities he delivered to on his route while being employed there.
His hobby of late was home improvements and he was a talented perfectionist when it came to the many projects he tackled. He could fix anything and his skills will be missed by family and friends alike.
John hunted with his father and brother at an early age. He tried his hand at golf, but his failing health did not allow him the opportunity to enjoy any outdoor sports.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring. The time and place for this celebration of John's life to be announced at a later date (due to inclement weather in and around Ohio).
