John Berry Mullins

John B. Mullins IV “John John” was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 28, 2008 and left us way too early on June 18, 2019. Son of Erica and John B. Mullins III, John attended Indian Springs Elementary School and was a three sport athlete excelling in football, basketball and baseball. He also competed in local chess tournaments and enjoyed playing the trumpet in his school’s concert band. John was in his third year as a player on the North Columbus Sports (NCS) Comets travel baseball team when he suffered a life ending aneurysm while at bat.

Although he was only here for 11 years, his view on life has impacted the community at large more than he would have imagined. His dream was to become a business owner and give back to the community. He will be remembered for his smile and countless acts of kindness, respect and gratitude for those who were fortunate enough to have met him.

He is survived by his parents and his younger sister, Meira, grandparents John B. Mullins Jr. , Mary Mullins and Jayne Groeber, aunts and uncles Tony and Kelly Valle, LaJoyce and Terry Williams, and Dayna and Jerimi Meyers, cousins Eliana, Ethan, Joshua, Darius, Izabella, Drew, Lili, Olivia and Jazmine. Visitation hours at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 6699 N. High St. Worthington, OH 43085 on Tuesday June 25th 12-3pm and 6-8pm. Additional viewing hours will be held Wednesday June 26th at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 2283 Sunbury Rd. Columbus, OH 43219 11am-1pm with church service to follow at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Childrens Hospital H2B Child Life in John John’s memory.
