

John Edward Scurlock, age 94, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018. John was born June 18, 1923 in Jackson, Ohio to the late John Stevenson and Hazel (Graham) Scurlock. Also preceding him in death is his sister, Frances Griffiths. John served in the 193rd Chemical Depot of the Army during WWII. John was a member of the American Legion for over 40 years. After the war, John moved to Columbus and worked for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Clerk of Courts. At the time of his death, John was a member of First Community Church in Marble Cliff. John is survived by his sisters, Carol J. Eubanks of Jackson, Ohio and Lavetta Parsley of Fairhope, Alabama; nieces, Julia Rica and Jennifer Salinas; nephews, Stephen Parsley, Johnny Griffiths, Keith Eubanks and Brian Eubanks. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 4-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Friday, February 9, 2018. Interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, 12 Fairmount Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
