

John H. "Jack" Strick, 88 of Columbus, died Monday, April 15, 2013. He was born September 9, 1924 in Penbrook, PA to the late George and Erna (Miller) Strick. He was a graduate of Newton-Conover High School, NC. He was a member of the "Greatest Generation", U.S. Army Air Corps WWII veteran and prisoner of war. He earned the Purple Heart and Air Medal. He retired after 38 years from the Department of Defense Civil Service and was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed conversation and golf. Jack was a devoted, loving and wonderful family man, known as The Patriarch. He is preceded in death by four brothers. He is survived by Patricia (Curll) Strick his loving wife of 67 years, sons David (Dawn) Strick and John (Deborah) Strick II, grandchildren David (Martha) Strick, Elizabeth (Ken) Lowery, Lesley (Jon) Cross, Susan Strick and M. Wesley (Kathryn) Milks, great grandchildren Anna Kate and Lance Lowery, Jordan and Jillian Cross and Eli Strick. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 PM until time of service at 2 PM at Westminster Thurber Chapel, 645 Neil Avenue, Columbus. Interment will follow in Kingwood Memorial Park.
