John A. Waldman Sr., age 85, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. John was born on April 22, 1936 in Windber, Pennsylvania to Peter and Mary Waldman. He graduated from Windber High School and University of Pittsburgh. He proudly served his county in the US Air Force. John was a member of American Legion and VFW Post. Longtime high school baseball umpire and a member Central Ohio Baseball Umpires Association. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Columbus, Ohio and St. Mary's Hungarian Catholic Church, Windber, PA. Preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Waldman; son, John Waldman Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Floyd) Waldman. Survived by children, Matthew Waldman, Columbus, Ohio; Christine Waldman; and granddaughter, Cozette Waldman Torres, both of Seattle, Washington. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5-7 pm Heart and Hope by Schoedinger Funeral Home, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. Interment Richland Cemetery, Windber, PA.
