

John W. Warner, age 87, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Mount Carmel West Select Specialty Hospital. John was born December 9, 1924 in Columbus to Robert and Sarah Alice (Snow) Warner who predeceased him as well as his son Van Whisson and 2 sisters, Bonnie (Tom) Snyder and Louella (Frank) Caffery. To mourn his passing is his wife, Edna. They were married December 17, 1954; his grandchildren, Michelle (Aaron) Watson of Ironton and Christopher (Amy) Whisson of Pittsburg and their mother Judy Whisson Jones of Louisville, KY. Also his sister, Rheta Ferrel and her children, Tammy (Bill) Zink and Alan (Becky) Ferrell and their families. John graduated from Central High School, class of 1942 and attended The Ohio State University until called to proudly serve in the United States Army, European Theatre. John retired in 1988 from Rockwell International (formerly North American Aviation) as a structural design engineer. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at Beecher RD.) Gahanna, where the family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012. Reverend Tim Carr officiating. An inurnment will be held at a later date at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
