

He was a resident of the Tuscany Gardens nursing home. Johnnie worked 74 years of his life and retired at 85 years old. Johnnie was born on January 13, 1928 in Pilgrim, Kentucky. He was the oldest of 10 children, son of Johnny and Addie Dials. He was married to the love of his life, Odell (Staton) Dials, for 70 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Johnnie loved bluegrass music and bluegrass festivals, hunting, and gardening. He was kind, generous, and charming to all people. He was a proud member of AA for 44 years.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Odell, sons Ray, Gary, Larry, and Charles, brothers Sherman and Jay, and sisters Evie Sartin and Edith Diamond. He is survived by daughters Nyoka, Phyllis (Jeff), Brenda (John), and Bonny (Julie); brothers James (Gladys), Mosie (Liz), Glen (Rita); sisters Liddy and Ann; grandchildren Sabrina, Joe, Penny, Gary Jr., Amy, Melinda, Jessica, Billy, Kevin, Johnny, Jeffrey, Jake, Heather, Amber, Maria, Jamie and Randy, and many great and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, February 15, 2021 at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Gahanna. A private funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Schoedinger Northeast, with interment at Jersey Cemetery.
