Joni was born on April 8, 1959, in Ironton, Ohio, to Harry and Oma Klaiber (Howard). She lived a life centered around love, laughter, family, and creating memories with the people she cherished most.
Joni was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Whether gathered around a fire roasting marshmallows with the kids, cheering on her favorite teams, or simply enjoying each other's company, Joni treasured every moment shared with those she loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Kendra Jithoo (Fraley), and son-in-law, Nirodh Jithoo; her son, Kyle Fraley, and daughter-in-law, Amber Fraley; her grandchildren, Kealy Fraley, Nikhil Jithoo, Sohan Jithoo, Xavier Fraley, RayLynn Fraley, and Freya Fraley; and her great-grandchildren, Reed Jordan, Olivia Jordan, and Kieran Jithoo.
Joni is also survived by her sisters, Linda Klaiber, Genie (Willard) Bailey, and Anita (Kerry) Kelley; and her brothers, Roger (Marta) Klaiber, Ken (Cheryl) Klaiber, Gary (Connie) Klaiber, and Dennis (Patricia) Klaiber; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Oma Klaiber.
Joni had a passion for sports and was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and Ohio State Buckeyes. She enjoyed bowling and spent many happy years on a bowling team with her twin sister, Genie, and her niece, Jennifer Payton. She loved music and could often be found singing along to her favorite songs.
Known for her infectious sense of humor, Joni never missed an opportunity to share a joke and make others laugh. Her warmth, kindness, and ability to bring joy to those around her will be remembered by all who knew her.
Among her favorite things in life were trips to the beach, watching her favorite teams play, listening to music, and, above all, spending time with her family. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in knowing that Joni's legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sandhill Christian Baptist Church, 188 Midway Avenue, Wheelersburg, Ohio 45694. A short memorial service will be held, followed by a dinner where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Joni's life.
