Joseph Robert Lawler

Joseph Robert Lawler, age 86, passed away on October 31, 2011 at Doctor’s Hospital West. Joseph was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 10, 1925 to the late Timothy and Emily Lawler. He graduated from Central High School. Joseph served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He worked for General Motors as a General Supervisor for 33 years before retiring. After retirement he and his wife traveled to Florida, Hawaii and Las Vegas. Joseph was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church where he worked in the food pantry. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Mayme Lawler; sons, Charles “Chuck” Lawler and Joseph R. Lawler, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and sister, Thelma Woodward; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad Street where funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, November 4, 2011 with Rev. Karen Cook officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
