I was having a flashback to 1988 or so tonight. I thought of the Joe Show on WHCN In Hartford CT. So I Hit the Internet to Find Joe. And I found that he had passed. My heart is broken. Joe was an AMAZING DJ. We who worked 2nd shift would always turn the Joe show on. Our night wasnt complete without him. He will be in my memories forever.

Dancing, love of classic rock...rock is not dead.  "Long live rock", The Who. Joe, I miss you now, and will always. I enjoyed dancing with you and will continue to enjoy dancing with your  gentle, handsome son who is the sweetest, kindest, most loving treasure I have ever met. Joey, you're an angel. Yes, I "fell off the grid" for about a decade. To that, I say, long live super trial attorneys!-born and raised right here in our own brilliant legal district of O, H, I, O! One that I also aim to become. I'm back. I have for you, a meager donation for your family's cause. Since I am a private person, I do not use FaceBook by preference. Frankly, in my opinion, it is a potentially dangerous tool, especially if one is a single female, and...I will leave a check at the station. I grew up on QFM96, and held an internship there during college. Joe was my favorite DJ by far.

Although he didn't try to, Joe taught me how to stay organized. I noticed him entering in his commitments into an electronic device. I began doing that and it's been such a help. 

Also, Joe was the DJ that my father would always call read:harrass. QFM meant so much to my dad, and Joe's patience and friendliness helped my father feel like he was a part of something. 

If Joe were here right now, I bet he'd reference George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass". Well, George was right, and us unlucky ones who have been left behind will get to see Joe again, in due time. In the meantime, we can hold on to the memories we made while he was here, and honor his legacy.

I understand the pain you're having. My husband passed away almost a year ago. It gets a little easier, but it still hurts most on significant days such as holidays. I still think I'll tell him something and remember he's gone.

Our memories of Joe are at the Big Bad Trivia. Every visit to Columbus included trivia night with our friends Team Mojo. I remember one time we were there,  he had just received "a really, cool wireless head set". I believe his son gave it to him and he was quite proud of it. Our thoughts go out to you. I have known joe since I was a kid. He is married to my cousin. He was always so funny!!! I remember going to the Nys fair with my mom and he was working for 95x and he was there and gave me a Bryan Adams record. I didn't know who Bryan Adams was but ended up playing that record 8,000 times. I told everyone, my cousin is married to smokin joe from 95x! Hugs to my cousin and her kids. Such a great family. So much happiness. Hold on to the happy memories. Love and hugs to you.

Always enjoyed his show and was excited to meet him.
He was great and took time to talk to us a couple of times while we were there.

Sent a gift in memory of Joseph "Joe Show" Pasternak

Over the eyars, we talked a few times on the phone and he’d complain about things…like how The Police have a bunch of hits, but Qfm would only let him play three of their songs.   One day he told me, "You know what?  I'm going to play the NEW Rush song today, and I don't care who I piss off!"  Ha.  
I met him out at a bowling alley once and just hung out while he did an “appearance.”  He even took care of my bar tab.  He was a good dude like that.
A few years ago when he used to do the 5:00 classic he dedicated a whole week to the songs I picked. He called it Laszlo Week and would play me talking about each song after they were done. He was even nice enough to burn me a CD of all five segments from the week. Anyway, it kinda started a trend because afterwards he'd have other listeners pick songs for a whole week. 
I'm from Pittsburgh and I'll always feel like that's my hometown. But after Joe made "Laszlo Week", for the first time since I moved here in 2000, I finally felt like a part of me was from Columbus as well.

Our hearts are heavy.  Not only was he a great DJ on QFM, but in our opinion, the best host of Big Bad Music Trivia.  Condolences from Kristin, Amy, John & Brian - Team Brody Bomb

While I never met Joe or knew him personally, I was a faithful listener for many years and will truly miss hearing that distinctive voice and his personality beaming out over the airwaves. I can't even count the amount of wisdom and laughs Joe shared with me.  He was an amazing man who did what he did from the heart, he didn't know another way.  I'm crushed by his passing and my heart goes out to everyone who has lost this special man from their lives.

Joe was such an amazing person.  Always professional, courteous, and fun.  He had such a passion for music and people.  I don't think Joe ever met a stranger.  He changed my life in 1990, and I'll never forget the unselfishness he demonstrated for all.  RIP Joe Show, you made a huge impact on so many and will never be forgotten. Joe was a teacher and intern to me and many other students at his time with OCB!  May his family and friends rest easy knowing what an inspiration Joe was to many aspiring radio personalities, including myself.

I spent time with Joe at various events and the thing I remember most about him was that, from the moment we met, he was so nice to me.  He always took time to say hello.  The first time we met I felt like we had been friends forever.  Always a smile to share.  He made people feel good. He will be missed by so very many.  He touched us all and we are grateful.
