

JoVon Jontel “Poopie” Richardson Jr. age 7 said farewell to us all on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH. Poopie was born Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 6:17 am at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, in Westerville, OH; to UraniaChristine Franklin and JoVon Jontel Richardson Sr. He was such as beautiful baby boy. Poopie faced many medical complications starting after his birth. However, he faced every obstacle head on and with a smile. Poopie is the baby of 5 children, and he had a special bond with each of his siblings. He loved his grandparents, and would light up whenever any of them came around. He knew when his aunts and uncles were around all attention was on him. Everyone just wanted to see that big beautiful smile he always wore. Poopie attended school part-time, he attended the FCBDD Early Childhood Education Center from 2017 to 2021 for early intervention as well as preschool. In August of 2021 he began his journey to big boy school and attended Kindergarten at the New Albany ELC. He made many friends and had wonderful teams to care for him at both. He graduated Kindergarten on June 1, 2022; a very happy day for his family. Poopie is preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother, Carrie Mae Richardson; maternal great-grandmothers, Rosella Allen Smith and Barbara Jean Harris; maternal great-grandfathers, William Seedie Burress and Robert Lee Harris. Left to cherish Poopie’s memory are his parents, Urania and JoVon; siblings; TyShawn, Nikiya, and Destiny Richardson and Kendreia Caudill; paternal great-grandparents Earlene and Willie Hudson; paternal grandparents, Patricia and Joe Turner(Granny and Granddad) ; maternal grandparents; Deborah Davis( MeeMaw)and Leonard and Leesa Franklin(PawPaw and Nana); aunts and uncles, Joe Richardson and Rosella Franklin, Brittany(Wayne) Clay, Leonard Franklin Jr., Zachery and Hailee Franklin, God-Mother, Rachel Perry and God-Grandmother Maxine Anderson(Nani). Special cousins, Jayden Richardson and Aubri Clay. A host of many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends 1:00 pm -2:00 pm Friday, July 22, 2022 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm. To celebrate JoVon, the family asks that you wear Paw Patrol colors (red or blue); please no black. Following services the family will be gathering at John Bishop Park in Whitehall, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, 700 Children’s Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43205.
