Juanita B. McCarty

Juanita Belle (Rollins) McCarty, age 91, entered her new home with the Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2011. Juanita was on hospice care at Traditions in Gahanna. Juanita was born in Vinton County, Ohio in 1919, grew up in Hocking County, and graduated from Logan High School in 1937. She retired from the State of Ohio in 1982. She remained very active as a pianist for several worship groups and was an organizer for the Sunday night worship at Stygler Village where she lived for the last 16 years. Her close relationship with the Lord was evident in the smile she kept even when words could not be heard. She was a lifelong member and worker at various Nazarene Churches, Shepherd Nazarene in Gahanna being the most recent. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee McCarty; parents, Julia and Alex Sheets, and Oakley Rollins; siblings, Estel Rollins, Oshel Rollins, and Helena Kitchen; mother and father in-law, Leander and Ottie McCarty. She is survived by son, Jerry (Adelina) McCarty; grandchildren, Patrick (Sarah) McCarty, Kevin McCarty, Scott (Amanda) McCarty, Kirsten McCarty, and Eric Baranyi; and great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jayden, Kylie, and Davon. The family of Juanita wants to especially thank the staff of Traditions and the In Care Hospice team for their love and care throughout her time at Traditions. Friends may call on Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 2:00PM-4:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at BEECHER RD) Gahanna, where the Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:00AM with visitation one hour prior.
