Juanita M. Shumaker

A Funeral Mass for Juanita M. Shumaker, 87, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 with Father Michael Reis as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Shumaker was born in Pomeroy, Ohio on March 6, 1926 to the late Raymond D. and Alice B. (Jones) Gaffney. She passed away at her residence on October 10, 2013.

Mrs. Shumaker was a member of St. Leonards Catholic Church and was formerly a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She enjoyed golfing and playing BINGO.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Shumaker of Newark; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ronald Rosekrans of Brighton, MI; granddaughter, Melissa Cline; sister, Hazel (Hap) Pendelton; brother, Luther (Bobbie) Gaffney; the Baird family; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Shumaker in 2003, whom she married September 24, 1955; three step-brothers; and one step-sister.

Friends may call at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM.
