Judith Ann Froling, aged 79, passed away at her home in Upper Arlington on Monday, November 21, 2022. Born in Kearny, New Jersey, on November 10, 1943, to the late George and Mary Selldin. She is survived by husband Andrew; children David (Lynne), Sherri Anderson (Jerrod), and Mark (Brandy); and grandchildren Henry Anderson, Elizabeth Froling, Owen Anderson, Ryan Froling, and Elias Froling, and other family members still residing in New Jersey.
Judy was loved by everybody because she always put the needs of others before her own. She was a happy stoic; gentle, soft-spoken, kind, patient, and never let any setback or difficulty deter her from accomplishing whatever she set out to achieve.
She first met Andy at the bus stop for the first day of school of their junior year of high school at Hanover Park in East Hanover, New Jersey, from which they graduated in 1961. After a courtship, they married in 1965 and celebrated their 57th year of marriage just last month.
Judy stayed at home raising their children until she went to work as an administrative assistant for the School of Allied Medical Professions at The Ohio State University where she spent the next 30 years. Judy rarely missed work and loved the students she served and people she worked with.
For many years while working at Ohio State, Judy would spend her evenings typing appraisal reports at home to support her husband’s business as well as provide in-home care for her mother. Yet, even with all of these hours working, Judy never missed an opportunity to watch her children and grandchildren play sports or other activities.
In her free time, and it’s a wonder how she found it, Judy could always be spotted with a book and a cup of tea. She enjoyed crocheting blankets, baking, gardening, puzzles, word and logic games, attending mass at Saint Andrew.
Judy never tired of learning new things. She had an inquisitive mind and the patience to just figure things out. In her later years, she enjoyed Facebook, FaceTiming, Digital Photography, and used the technology to stay in touch with her beloved cousins and niece back in New Jersey.
Although her passing leaves a void for so many, comfort is found knowing she has reunited in heaven with her dad, who she loved dearly and lost when she was just 38, and her mom who passed not long ago.
Visitation for Judy will be held Sunday, November 27, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, 43221, and her Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Schoedinger Northwest.
