Judith W. Sutton died peacefully on May 27, 2024. Judy was born in Columbus, Ohio, but grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Upper Arlington with her parents after graduating from Bennett College and Katharine Gibbs School. Her first job in Columbus was working for the Athletic Director at The Ohio State University. Then after staying home to raise her two daughters, she returned to The Ohio State University Athletic Department and retired after 25 years of service. She and her husband Steve enjoyed following the Buckeyes and traveling to Rose Bowl games over the years. Judy also took great joy in creating incredible knitting and sewing projects and made beautiful clothes for her daughters and grandchildren. She also volunteered her sewing and creative talent to many activities including her Twig 118 group that she was a member for over 60 years. Her great-grandchildren are wearing some of the beautiful clothes she made for her own daughters when they were small.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband Steve. She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Sutton Hundley (David), Sandra Sutton DeCrane (Michael); five grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Her family will fondly remember her many wise words of wisdom that have greatly influenced all of their lives. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
