

Judy Ruth Armentrout, age 77, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at home. She was born in Swords Creek in the hills of Virginia to the late Sherman and Nellie (Jackson) Hale. Judy left home at a young age, but she was always very proud of where she came from. She and her husband were roofers for many years. Judy loved to thrift shop, read, go to casinos, and take care of her lawn and garden. She enjoyed many activities as a member of the Lima/Pataskala Senior Citizens Group. She had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, David Armentrout, Sr.; sister, Mildred Ilene “Jackie” Lanham and brother, Leon J. “Lonnie” Hale. She is survived by her children, Michael Helbert, Violet Jane (Kirk) Barber and David Armentrout, Jr.; grandchildren, Karmen (Tim) Nystrom, Kristina (Casey) Covington, Denise Armentrout, Nora Armentrout, Kassi McLothlin, and Brandi (Rodrigo) Fuentes; great-grandchildren, Rio and Nicolas Fuentes, Axl Sage and Atticus, Ansley and Asher Covington, Reagan and Gibson Nystrom; brother, Johnny Hale, Sharon Sprouse, and Tammy Hale. Family will receive friends 1-2 pm Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held at 2pm. Pastor Phil Rode officiating. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
