

June Elinor Hettinger (Lowe), 78, of Groveport, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Born on September 2, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, June was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 1965. She spent her life devoted to her family, friends, faith, and community.
June devoted her life to serving God through her faith and actions. She gave generously of her time and heart to her church—serving on the Parish Council, yearly bazaar, teaching CCD classes, baking and cooking for parish events, helping with fundraisers, and volunteering to serve those in need. June was honored with a nomination for Woman of the Year in recognition of her selfless service to others. She was known for her steadfast faith, her loving prayers, and her desire to bring light and comfort to others.
June had a love for life’s simple joys—playing cards (Euchre, Crazy 8s, Uno, and Solitaire), baking delicious treats (especially with her grandkids), spending time and sharing laughter with those she loved. Her competitive spirit was matched only by her generous heart and beautiful smile. June touched countless lives with her kindness, strength, and compassion, and her legacy will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
June is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph L. Hettinger, and her parents, Lee and Doris Lowe. June is survived by her children, Joe Hettinger (Tracy), Jason Hettinger (Katie), Jared Hettinger (Tanya), Julie Hettinger-Turner (Jim), Jeanette Hunt (Brad), Jennifer Chelikowsky (Steve Vance), and John Hettinger. Her siblings, Carl Lowe (Winnie) and Neva Stover (John); along with her 25 cherished grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family who brought endless joy to her life.
Family will receive friends from 6-8PM on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, with a Funeral Mass the following day, Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 10:30AM at Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, 5225 Refugee Rd, with burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Dementia Society Of America or any Catholic Services , organizations close to June’s heart.
