

Karen Renee Arrington, 52, and her husband Joe died on Jan. 20 in Columbus, the result of an armed robbery. She was born on Nov. 1, 1966 in Barnesville, Ohio to Carla Berridge Conter and the late Donald Conter, and grew up in the Flushing/Bethesda area.
She served as an EMT on the Bethesda and Barnesville Squads and also in the Columbus area. She studied at Ashford University, receiving a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management in 2013 and a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning With Technology in 2014. She was resident manager at Aberdare Ranges View Apartments, and also at Sunrise Lake Townhomes. She was also an employee of Players Paradise Internet Cafe, all in Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Donald Thompson and her grandparents Ruth and Carl Berridge and Betty and Clarence Conter.
She is survived by her mother Carla Thompson of Bethesda; her daughter Alyssa McCloud along with her fiancee Marquise Mock and his children, Jardon and KeKe Mock of Columbus; her son Joshua McCloud of Belmont, Ohio; her step-son Ian Arrington of Groveport, Ohio and her grandchildren Carson, Abigail and Ryker McCloud.
Also surviving are two sisters, Christine Thompson of New Bloomfield, MO. and Heather Hurd of Muldrow, OK.; a niece Lauren Phillips of MO. and a nephew Seth Evers of OK.
