

Karen Sue Humphrey, 49, of Centennial, Colorado, formerly of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 29, 2012. She was born September 17, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio and was a 1981 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School.
Karen gained employment as a program specialist in the fiscal division of the VA office in Columbus and transferred to the VA Hospital in Denver 10 years ago. She was currently in her 24th year with the VA. Karen was full of life and very outgoing. She loved landscaping her yard and visiting the casinos in the mountains. Karen enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Michigan football. Karen was very devoted to her dogs, Bo, Misty, and Bear and supported the charity “On My Own”. She will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones.
Preceded in death by her mother, Jenny Humphrey. Karen will be missed by her father, David Humphrey; sister, Mary (Jim) Lockett; brother, Daren Humphrey; longtime companion, Marc Sanders; nephew, Charles Humphrey; niece, Alex Wolfe; and her beloved dogs.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday.
