Life always seems too short.  Karen made the best of every moment. I had the privilege of teaching and coaching Karen and her children. She was a volleyball setter for Rothsay.  She always came to school and practice with a positive attitude.m she made everyone better around.  She will be dearly missed by all. We are all better for knowing Karen.

Roger and Family, thinking of you and sending prayers of love and peace to you all. I was honored to be Christopher's teacher. However, I was the one who learned so much from you all.  Christopher  entered the classroom with a smile on his face every day. He also  would give me hugs  throughout the day. His smile always lit up the classroom and his hugs were filled with love and  gave me such pleasure. He knew the power of two simple acts-smiling and hugging. Roger you and Karen taught me to work through challenges with loving, kind spirits and fierce determination. I grew as a teacher and as a mother by your example. Ouse Family, your names are in the front of my Bible and in my constant prayers. Karen gave me such a wonderful blessing in the love that she shared with me and my daughter. I cannot repay what she gave, but I can and will continue pray for each of you by name. Our hearts may be heavy, but mine is lightened when I think of each of you and see Karen in you - and the way Jesus' love was worked through her and into you. You are beautiful reflections of their immense love, and I know that brings Karen joy. May Jesus hold you in his arms on this difficult day.

It is with such great sadness that we send our deepest sympathy to all of you.  Karen was such a beautiful person and a wonderful student.  All of her English work and her contributions to class were works of excellence.  Her ready smile and eagerness to learn were always present; it was a joy to have her as a student.  The last time I saw her, which was perhaps almost twenty years after she graduated, she excitedly told me "Oh, Mrs. Ward, I still remember the John Donne sonnet you made us memorize."  And then she recited the entire sonnet to me perfectly.  Once again, she made my day.  And now we need not ask for whom the bell tolls.You have blessed many, and now you are blessed in the kingdom.  God is with all of you.

Thinking about your beautiful family and my heart breaks for you all knowing how much you will miss Karen. I am happy that she is in heaven with her precious Lord whom she so faithfully served with her life, but sad that she is no longer here with us. I have many good memories of growing up with Karen. Slumber parties and playing on the farm, riding horses and snowmobiles, getting our tongues stuck to the swing set in the winter (yes almost every kid growing up in Minnesota has to try it once!) cheerleading and sharing many years of friendship. For many years we have lived miles apart, but I have enjoyed watching your family through pictures on Facebook and I have appreciated your updates throughout this challenging time. Praying for strength and courage as you walk this journey together. Love and hugs to you all!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you can find some comfort from the Bible in Rev. 21:4, where it promises, " And he ( God ) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Isa. 60:20 says, No more will your sun set, Nor will your moon wane, For Jehovah God will become for you an eternal light, And the days of your mourning will have ended. We all long for the day when these promises will be fulfilled. I hope these words will bring you some peace during this very difficult time.
