

Karen Cremeans Rife, age 66 of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away on the morning of Friday, September 26, 2014. Although Karen spent the last 40 years in Ohio, she was a true southern girl at heart and was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of Irene and the late William Cremeans. Karen graduated from Marshall University where she earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education. In her 30’s she went back to school and spent the rest of her career in sales and graphic design. She was charismatic, fun loving and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. She was an animal lover and always believed there was room for one more. She enjoyed spending time with friends, listening to music and dancing, but most of all; Karen loved being a mother to her two daughters. She is survived by her daughters; Amy Rife, Lauren Shannon and husband Nathan Shannon; mother, Irene Cremeans; brother, William L. Cremeans Jr.; extended family members and dear friends. In addition to her father William, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Cremeans. Karen will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Memorial service will be held 1:30pm on Saturday, October 11th, 2014 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1304 6th Avenue, Huntington, West Virginia.
